Duties and Responsibilities: in emergencies or in combat, physicians are not always immediately available to treat the injured or wounded. when a physician is not available medical emergency technicians provide basic and emergency medical treatment. they also assist medical officers in caring for sick and injured patients.

  • Examine and treat emergency or battlefield patients 
  • interview patients and record their medical histories 
  • prepare blood samples for laboratory analysis 
  • give shots and medicines to patients 


Salary: $5,462 - $65,544 

Education: 
degree level: doctorate of medicine (M.D) 
degree field: medicine 
Licensure / certification: obtaining licensure generally requires graduation from medical school and subsequent passing of the united states medical licensing examination (USMLE)
